How to Get to Ujjain
By air: the nearest airport is Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport, Indore, about 53 km away, with direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and other cities. A taxi to Ujjain takes around 1 to 1.5 hours.
By train: Ujjain Junction (UJN) on the Western Railway has direct trains from Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Indore and many other cities. The station is about 2 km from Mahakaleshwar.
By road: Ujjain is well connected by highway to Indore (53 km), Bhopal (183 km), Ahmedabad (about 400 km) and Kota. Long-distance and state buses use Nanakheda bus stand and the Dewas Gate bus stand near the railway station.
