Vaishno Devi Temple, Haridwar

This Vaishno Devi Temple is a Haridwar-based homage to the far more famous shrine of the same name in Katra, Jammu & Kashmir, built for pilgrims and travellers who want a similar darshan experience without the multi-day trek that the original site requires. The temple recreates the cave-and-tunnel approach the Jammu shrine is known for, leading visitors through narrow passages toward the inner sanctum, which houses representations of the goddesses Lakshmi, Kali and Saraswati worshipped together as Vaishno Devi. Set on the road toward Sapt Rishi Ashram, away from the density of the main bazaar, the temple has a calmer, more spacious feel than many of Haridwar's older, more compact shrines, and its elevated setting offers pleasant views over the surrounding area and the Ganga. It's a straightforward, low-effort addition to an itinerary that already includes Sapt Sarovar or Bharat Mata Mandir, given the shared road and proximity.
