About Auli Ski Slopes

Auli is widely promoted by Uttarakhand Tourism as one of India's premier skiing destinations. Set at roughly 2,500-3,050 m in Chamoli district, the slopes spread across the high meadows above Joshimath and are framed by oak and conifer forest.

Official tourism material describes long snow-covered ski runs suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers, along with ski training and rental facilities during the operating season. The Chamoli district administration also identifies January to March as the core snow period, although snowfall and ski conditions vary from year to year.

Even for non-skiers, this is the defining Auli landscape: snow play, mountain photography and wide views of Nanda Devi, Kamet, Dunagiri and other Garhwal peaks on clear days.
